2. Determine what home is right for you.
When looking for a new home plan, take time to explore all of your options, ask questions of our sales representatives and visit as many presentation centres and model homes as possible looking for ideas and features you may want to incorporate into your new home.
3. Determine the cost of your new home.
It is important to have a ‘wish list’ of items that you would like for your new home to help provide some direction for you in your search. However, we encourage you to keep an open mind as our StoneBrook representative may be able to suggest features which you may not have considered.
4. Purchase and Sale Agreement.
After selecting a floor plan, deciding upon potential features and upgrades and securing financing, you can proceed to signing a Purchase and Sale Agreement. This document, which is prepared by a Stone-Brook representative and reviewed with you at a scheduled appointment, is your sales receipt, outlining every aspect of your purchase. The document will include the terms which both you and StoneBrook Developments have agreed upon.
5. Working Drawing Review.
At this meeting, you and a StoneBrook representative will review the blueprints for the home to be built. These drawings are reviewed to ensure that all aspects of the home are correct and in accordance with the Purchase and Sale Agreement.
6. Selections.
With the assistance of our design consultants, new home buyers are asked to make selections to determine both the interior and exterior of their new homes. The StoneBrook Developments Design Centre is a great place to start considering your options and gathering inspiration. As the selection process is taking place, the construction of your new home begins. This exciting process unfolds over a period of 4 to 6 months and ends with you moving into a beautiful new home!
7. Electrical Plan Review.
At this meeting you and a StoneBrook representative will review the electrical layout of the home to ensure that aspects such as light switches and cable outlets are in a feasible and desired location.
8. Construction.
As your new home progresses through the construction process, the entire StoneBrook Developments team will work to ensure that your new home is built with superior quality and the highest level of craftsmanship.
9. Pre-Delivery Orientation (PDO).
During the PDO, which takes place approximately one week prior to closing, you will meet to walk through your new home with a representative from StoneBrook Developments. Together, you will record the items that you find unfinished or needing repair. At the completion of the PDO, you will be asked to sign the form and we will give a copy of this form to you as well as keep a copy for recording in our files.
At the PDO you will also be asked to sign a Certificate of Completion and Possession (CCP), listing your homes warranty information and date of possession. Upon completion of the PDI and CCP your new home is officially enrolled in British Columbia‘s HMO 2-5-10 Year warranty insurance program.
10. Closing & Move In.
